python-tifffile software package provides Read and write image data from and to TIFF files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-tifffile
python-tifffile is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-tifffile package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-tifffile *
You will get with python-tifffile package name, version, architecture and description in a table
